Laser Welding
 

• Low "heat affected zone" (HAZ) -- extremely low weld sink.
• Minimal heat input -- low distortion -- little discoloration of the weld.
• Minimal laser weld metal deposited resulting in minimal machining to restore the part back to its original condition.
• Precise control of the weld location within a few thousands of an inch Excellent for engraving due to minimal sink and distortion to surrounding material.

 

Micro-tig Welding
 

• Completed through a microscope to provide smaller welds than conventional tig welding.
• 5-6 times faster an average than laser welding.
• Weld deposits as small as .010.
• Method of choice when time is of the essence.
